ALECSO holds virtual symposium on   “Education in the time of COVID-19 : Current Reality and Possible Solutions”

 

 

Under the patronage of H.E. Director-General Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, ALECSO and Anasy Media (UAE) organized, on June 23, 2021, a virtual symposium on “Education in the time of COVID-19 : Current Reality and Possible Solutions”.

The symposium was held in response to the current global health crisis and its impact on the continuity of the educational process in the Arab countries. It offered an opportunity for increased communication and networking among relevant Arab experts. 

In his welcome statement, delivered on his behalf by Mr. Amine Dahmani, Acting Director of the Department of Science and Scientific Research,  H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, highlighted ALECSO’s efforts to meet the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and emphasized the need to combine and mobilize all efforts in the face of the crisis, while drawing on successful Arab and regional experiences in this regard.

On his part, H.E. Dr. Fethi Sellaouti, Tunisian Minister of Education, reviewed the Tunisian experience in dealing with the repercussions of COVID-19 on the educational process. 

Presentations were offered by Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT Department, Dr. Hechmi Ardhaoui, representative of the Education Department, and Dr. Noureddine Doggui, Expert at the Education Department, in which they highlighted ALECSO’s efforts and initiatives in response to COVID-19, and presented the project of developing the “Arab Plan for Education in Times of Emergency and Crisis”.

The symposium was attended by high-level experts from Jordan, UAE, Tunisia, Algeria, Syria, Palestine and Egypt, along with Arab experts living abroad (Germany).
