ALECSO participates in the  84th  session of   The Palestinian Children Educational Affairs Council

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) participated remotely in the 84th session of the “Palestine Children Educational Affairs Council”, chaired by H.E. Mr. Saleh Basri (State of Palestine), in the presence of delegations from Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, and Lebanon, along with representatives from ALECSO and ICESCO.

The Council agenda included the following main items:

  • The educational process in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Israeli practices against it;
  • The educational process in East Al-Quds and the Israeli Judaizing policies;
  • The Separation Wall and its serious impact on the educational process in the occupied Palestinian territories;
  • The educational process of Palestinian children in the Arab countries.

The Palestinian Delegation presented reports indicating the Israeli systematic targeting of the educational process in Al-Quds, by imposing restrictions on Palestinian schools in this city and falsifying and distorting Palestinian curriculum.

ALECSO’s statement in this meeting commended the Palestinian educational efforts across all Palestine, including East Al-Quds, especially in light of the recent violent events in the Palestinian territories.

The statement reaffirmed ALECSO’s continued and unwavering support for the struggle of the Palestinian people and for their firm and historical right to their independent land.

The Palestinian Delegation and other participants in this session thanked the Organization for its adherence to its commitments towards the education sector in the Arab World, and, more specifically, for its support to educational efforts in Palestine.
