ALECSO and OIF hand over 13th Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Translation Award 

 

 

As part of the “Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Translation Award” project, and in collaboration with the International Organization of La Francophonie, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization held, on June 2, 2021, a virtual ceremony to hand over the Award, in its 13th edition (2020), to the two winners : Mr. Younès Ez-Zouaine and Mr. Abdelhak Boutaqmanti, from Morocco, for their translation, from French into Arabic, of Jacob Rogozinski’s book entitled : “Le Djihadisme : Le Retour du Sacrifice”.  

The ceremony was attended by the Award Jury members, including Dr. Mohamed Mahjoub who offered a lecture on “Translation Intersections between Arts, Sciences and Humanities”. Dr. Mahjoub is a Professor of Philosophy and former Director of the Tunisia Translation Institute.

The Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Translation Award in Human and Social Sciences (French-Arabic / Arabic French) was created in 2007 under a cooperation agreement between ALECSO and OIF. It was won by prominent translators, writers and philosophers from the Arab and Francophone worlds.
