The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part remotely in the plenary meeting of the Arab Group at UNESCO, held on May 20, 2021 under the chairmanship of HE Ambassador Sisa bint Bida, President of the Arab Group.
Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of the ICT Department, offered a presentation on ALECSO’s response to COVID-19 and its post-pandemic plans. He highlighted, in this regard, the series of initiatives launched by the Organization in a number of Arab countries, including Comoros, Djibouti, Lebanon and Mauritania. These initiatives involved offering digital education platforms for ministries and educational institutions to be used for e-learning purposes, and providing some Arab countries with computers, received from major technology companies that are partners of ALECSO, to support their COVID-19 response efforts by using these computers for access to online platforms.
