ALECSO celebrates World Creativity and Innovation Day

 

Under the patronage of H.E. Director-General Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, ALECSO organized on April 22, 2021 at its headquarters in Tunis, a celebration, entitled “Arab Children Create and Innovate”, to mark the World Creativity and Innovation Day, observed on April 21st of each year. 

This celebration comes as part of ALECSO's endeavor to spread the culture of creativity, innovation and scientific research, and instill in Arab children the sense of cooperation and teamwork.

In his inaugural statement, delivered on his behalf by Mr. Amine Dahmani, Acting Director of the Science and Scientific Research Department, the Director-General greeted all participants and wished them continued success and distinction. He took this opportunity to reaffirm that ALECSO will continue to pursue its goals and serve the needs and requirements of Arab States. 

In addition to the directors of ALECSO’s technical departments, the ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Bouhlel, Secretary-General of the Tunisian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, who commended the vital role undertaken by ALECSO to promote Arab States’ advancement in the educational, scientific and cultural fields, and reaffirmed Tunisia’s continued support to ALECSO to achieve its noble goals. 

Participants also included high-level experts from Tunisia, civil society representatives, a number of talented students winners of international awards in creativity and innovation, and via ZOOM, Dr. Hussain Aziz Saleh, Lecturer at the Higher Institute of Earthquake Studies and Research at the University of Damascus, and Dr. Ibrahim Osman, Professor at the American University of Beirut.
