 ALECSO hosts the launch of the   “Inclusive City for a Happy Childhood” program

 



H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and H.E Mrs. Imen Zahouani Houimel, Tunisian Minister of Women, Family, Children, and the Elderly, chaired, on March 19, 2021 at ALECSO headquarters, the launch of the “Inclusive City for a Happy Childhood” program. 

The event was attended by Dr. Neyla Akrimi, Director-General of the International Center for Local Development and Good Governance, the Speaker of the Arab Children’s Parliament, Mr. Adnen Bouassida, President of the National Federation of Tunisian Municipalities, along with a number of experts, civil society representatives, members of the Tunisian Children’s Parliament, and the directors of ALECSO’s technical departments. 

The event included discussions (moderated by children) and documentaries on the problems facing children in urban spaces in Tunisia, such as inadequate infrastructure and poor equipment. In this regard, participants offered solutions and proposals to promote inclusive cities that involve children in managing local affairs and provide opportunities for all, without discrimination or exclusion.
