Press release : Award Ceremony of the Arab Code Week

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) is pleased to announce that the award ceremony of the 1st edition of the “Arab Code Week” (ACW) will be held on March 24, 2021 at ALECSO headquarters in Tunis, in the presence of a number of Arab high-level education officials and media professionals.

The first edition of the Arab Code Week was held during the period February 8-15, 2021, and was co-organized by ALECSO and the Tunisian Association for Educational Initiatives.  It aimed at spreading the culture of programming, developing basic educational and scientific skills, and fostering creativity, innovation and technology. 

Various activities were implemented as part of the Arab Code Week, including competitions, seminars, training workshops on programming techniques and methods, virtual visits to Arab museums, discovery of young talents in modern technologies, and “Open Days” in primary schools.

The Arab Code Week witnessed a massive participation, with no less than 13352 activities registered on the ACW platform. Over 200,000 students (200876), 10,000 teachers and 1509 primary schools from across the Arab World took part in the Arab Code Week, and competed for the following awards : “Golden Week Award”; “Golden School Award”; “Golden Activity Award”; and “Golden Exhibition Award”.
