H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, held, on February 22, 2021, a remote meeting with Dr. Silvia Montoya, Director of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), based in Montreal, Canada.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss ways of further enhancing ALECSO-UIS cooperation and partnership in the collection and sharing of data and indicators.
The two sides reviewed and assessed the joint programs implemented, during the period between 2013 and 2016, as part an agreement in the field of education which was successfully implemented. They also agreed to set up a joint working group to prepare a memorandum of understanding between the two organizations for the coming years, covering the fields of education, culture and science.
