ALECSO Director-General pays courtesy visit to   Oman’s Ambassador to Tunisia

   

 

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid, on February 19, 2021, a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Yahya Bin Musa Al-Bakri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Tunisia.

Dr. Ould Amar offered a brief overview about the activities and programs undertaken by the Organization in its fields of competence. He also expressed deep appreciation of the longstanding cooperation between ALECSO and the Sultanate of Oman which has continuously supported the work of the Organization.

Dr. Ould Amar reviewed the main projects that the Organization is currently working on, including, in particular, the Strategic Plan for the period 2023-2028, the updated Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture, the ministerial conferences scheduled for 2021, and further cooperation with Arab National Commissions and with the ALECSO-affiliated Schools, Clubs and Chairs whose activities are being boosted through the electronic platform designed to that end.

On his part, the Omani Ambassador commended ALECSO’s significant achievements, over the past five decades, in terms of spreading science and knowledge across the Arab world, enhancing the strategic sectors of education, culture, science and scientific research, providing relevant plans and strategies for Arab States, and working for promoting inclusive and equitable quality education. He also hailed ALECSO’s actions in support of countries with special needs, and expressed readiness to further strengthen relations between the Sultanate of Oman and ALECSO.
