ALECSO Director-General pays courtesy visit to   Mauritania’s Ambassador to Tunisia

 

 



H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid, on February 18, 2021, a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Deman Hamar, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Republic of Tunisia.

Dr. Ould Amar offered a brief overview about the activities and programs undertaken by the Organization in its fields of competence. He also expressed deep appreciation of the longstanding cooperation between ALECSO and Mauritania which has continuously supported the work of the Organization.

Dr. Ould Amar reviewed the main projects that the Organization is currently working on, including, in particular, the Strategic Plan for the period 2023-2028, the updated Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture, the ministerial conferences scheduled for 2021, and the forthcoming webinars. He also highlighted the significant level of cooperation between ALECSO and Mauritanian universities, which involves the provision of e-learning platforms.

On his part, the Mauritanian Ambassador commended the significant role undertaken by ALECSO in terms of spreading science and knowledge across the Arab world, enhancing the strategic sectors of education, culture, science and scientific research, providing relevant plans and strategies for Arab States, and working for promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and achieving the Sustainable Development Agenda in all Arab countries.  He hailed ALECSO’s actions in support of countries with special needs, especially through providing remote training sessions, and expressed readiness to further strengthen relations between Mauritania and ALECSO.
