 ALECSO Director-General pays courtesy visit to   Algeria’s  Ambassador to Tunisia

 

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid, on February 12, 2021, a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Azzouz Baalal, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Tunisia.

Dr. Ould Amar offered a brief overview about the activities and programs implemented by the Organization in its fields of competence. He also expressed deep appreciation of the longstanding cooperation between ALECSO and Algeria which has continuously supported the work of the Organization.

Dr. Ould Amar reviewed the main projects that the Organization is currently working on, including, in particular, the Strategic Plan for the period 2023-2028, the updated Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture, the Encyclopedia of Great Arab and Muslim Scholars and Writers, the Plastic Arts series, and the specialized ministerial conferences scheduled to be held in 2021.

The meeting highlighted the need to make best use of the Arab Center for Antiquities and Cultural Heritage in the city of Tipaza, Algeria, designed to host the training sessions to be organized by the Organization.

On his part, the Algerian Ambassador commended the valuable role undertaken by ALECSO to spread science and knowledge across the Arab world, and the high interest it attaches to strategic sectors related to education, culture, science and scientific research. He expressed hope that ALECSO would continue to carry out its crucial mission and provide mechanisms that would help promote inclusive and equitable quality education in all Arab countries, in implementation of Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Agenda.
