 ALECSO Director-General pays courtesy visit to Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid a courtesy visit, on February 9, 2021, to H.E. Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Tunisia. 

Dr. Ould Amar congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him full success in his diplomatic mission. He offered a brief overview about the activities and programs implemented by the Organization in its fields of competence. He expressed deep appreciation of the longstanding cooperation between ALECSO and Saudi Arabia which has continuously supported the work of the Organization, and played host to many conferences and training sessions. He underlined, in this regard, the need to further strengthen partnership between ALECSO and Saudi universities and research centers in order to better benefit from their expertise.

Dr. Ould Amar reviewed the main projects that the Organization is currently working on, including, in particular, the Strategic Plan for the period 2023-2028, the updated Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture, the Encyclopedia of Great Arab and Muslim Scholars and Writers, the Plastic Arts series, the specialized ministerial conferences to be held in 2021, and the training-of-trainers sessions that are currently being implemented for the Comoros, Djibouti and Somalia.

On his part, the Saudi Ambassador commended the valuable role undertaken by ALECSO to spread science and knowledge across the Arab world, and the high interest it attaches to strategic sectors related to education, culture, science and scientific research. He expressed hope that ALECSO would continue to carry out its crucial mission and provide mechanisms that would help promote inclusive and equitable quality education in all Arab countries. 

The Saudi Ambassador expressed full readiness to further enhance cooperation between ALECSO and Saudi Arabia through its embassy in Tunis, and to strengthen relationships toward better serving the Organization’s mission, especially in countries with special needs.
