ALECSO Director-General inaugurates virtual workshop on   “The Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in Education”

 

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of  ALECSO, chaired the opening, on January 18, 2021, of the virtual workshop on “The Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in Education”, organized by ALECSO jointly with the Riyadh-based UNESCO  Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE). 

Attended by prominent international experts, the workshop was an opportunity to present some of the relevant experiences of Arab institutions as well as to share expertise and enhance joint cooperation. 

In his opening statement, Dr. Ould Amar indicated that ALECSO has always worked to enhance the quality of education and improve its outcomes. To that end, it has convened several ministerial conferences, produced strategies and reference documents, designed guides and manuals, and implemented various programs and training courses.  It has been working, for two years now, to strengthen Arab capacities in terms of quality auditing. ALECSO has also joined regional and international partnerships concerned with improving education quality. 

Dr. Ould Amar underlined the need to enhance cooperation and strengthen partnerships among States, Arab governmental and non-governmental organizations, and regional and international institutions, with the aim of curbing poverty, ensuring quality and sustainable education, providing women and girls with equal opportunities for education, training and participation in economic and social life, and developing capacities to face current crises and plan for a better future.
