H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, took part, on January 10, 2021, in the “Arab Theater Day” celebration organized by the Arab Theater Authority in Sharjah, UAE.
In a recorded statement, Dr. Ould Amar conveyed his congratulations to all artists and creators on the occasion of the Arab Theater Day. He indicated that the current critical situation makes it necessary to search for innovative ways to practice arts in such a way as to be capable of meeting emerging challenges and concerns.
Dr. Ould Amar commended the significant role of theatrical arts in educating young people on the values of openness and moderation, and affirmed that ALECSO, jointly with the Arab Theater Authority, will continue supporting theater and theatrical artists so that they can overcome the effects of the COVID-19 crisis. He called, in this regard, for expediting the implementation of the Arab Strategy for Theatrical Development in all Arab countries, while paying special attention to school theater.
