The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Executive Board and General Conference Secretariat) held, on December 17, 2020, a virtual training session for Arab National Commissions personnel, in their capacity as Liaison Officers chosen by the Secretaries-General of Arab National Commissions.
Liaison Officers are in charge of liaising among Arab National Commissions on the one hand, and between them and the Executive Board and General Conference Secretariat on the other hand. They also undertake the electronic management of the Commissions’ files through the cutting-edge services provided by the interactive platform of the Executive Board and General Conference Secretariat.
The training session was attended by Liaison Officers from Jordan, Emirates, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, and Yemen.
It is worth recalling that the interactive platform of the Executive Board and General Conference Secretariat was created at the proposal of Member States and upon a resolution by the ALECSO Executive Board. It enables Arab National Commissions to monitor and follow the activities of the ALECSO-affiliated networks of schools, clubs and academic Chairs. The launch of these networks was announced by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, on December 8, 2020, in the presence of the Secretaries-General of Arab National Commissions, the members of the Executive Board, and the Liaison Officers of the three networks’.
