At the kind invitation of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Sector of Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Affairs), ALECSO took part, on December 14, 2020, in the 105th, session of the “Conference of Officials in Charge of Palestinian Affairs in Arab Host Countries”.
The meeting, held remotely, was chaired by H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abu Houli, Head of the Refugee Affairs Department, and was attended by delegations from Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, and Lebanon, as well as from ISESCO and UNRWA. The Conference agenda included statements by delegations and reports by participating States and organizations.
In his statement to the meeting, delivered on his behalf by Mrs. Jalila Labidi, Program Coordinator at ALECSO’s Education Department, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, stressed the need to continue providing support to educational institutions in Palestine. He called for further coordination with the relevant partners in order to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including Palestinian children’s right to education, and to stand by the Palestinian people so that they can recover their occupied territories and establish their independent State with East Al-Quds as its capital.
