ALECSO implements remote training course for educational and school leaders on the management of Arab educational institutions during conflicts

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) held, on October 27-28, 2020, a remote training course for educational and school leaders on the management of educational institutions during conflicts. This is the second session implemented this year by ALECSO for countries affected by conflicts and wars, as part of its endeavor to mitigate the effects of crises and emergency situations, and guarantee the right of children and youth to education.
This session, attended by officials and educators from Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Libya and Yemen, aims at enhancing the capacities of educational leaders and developing their knowledge and skills in managing educational institutions in times of crises and emergencies, and in maintaining the continuity of the learning process.
Professor Hechmi Ardhaoui, Acting Director of the Education Department, opened the session by conveying to all participants the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and his wishes for the success of this training event. He stressed ALECSO’s determination to continue implementing such activities despite the exceptional circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 crisis. In this context, ALECSO is preparing to hold, on November 3-4 2020, a vocational training session for intermediate and higher education graduates in countries affected by conflicts and wars.
