H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, opened a webinar on “Education Quality for our Common Future", organized, on September 29, 2020, by the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE), based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In a keynote statement, Dr. Ould Amar stressed that ALECSO has long been aware of the importance of enhancing quality in education in order to improve its outputs, which will help achieve comprehensive Arab development, address the difficulties and problems facing this process, and foster adequate solutions and opportunities. Quality in education, he added, responds to current standards, priorities and needs, and is amenable to application, monitoring, assessment and measurement.
Dr. Ould Amar indicated that ALECSO has produced a myriad of strategies, reference documents and guidebooks and has conducted training sessions on education quality. During the past two years, it has provided training in quality auditing. It has also engaged in regional and international partnerships designed to achieve sustainable development goals in the field of education.
In this same webinar, Dr. Hechmi Ardhaoui contributed a paper on “The role of the non-State sector in enhancing the competitive advantage of education in Arab countries.”
It is noteworthy that ALECSO and RCQE signed an agreement with the aim of enhancing partnership and cooperation in promoting education quality in the Arab region.
