ALECSO participates in 106th session of the Economic and Social Council

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) participated with an official delegation, headed by Director-General Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, in the meetings of the 106th session of the Economic and Social Council (at the Committees, Senior Officials and Ministerial levels). This event, chaired by the State of Kuwait, was held via video conference, on August 30 - September 03, 2020.

The main Agenda items were the following :

  • Report of the Secretary-General between the two sessions of the Council (105th and 106th).
  • Economic and social issues to be submitted to the 31st ordinary session of the Arab Summit.
  • Response to the economic and social consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Economic and social support to Lebanon (following the Beirut port explosion).
  • Reports and resolutions of ministerial committees, especially the resolutions and recommendations of the 29th meeting of the Organizations’ Committee for Coordination and Follow-up, and the 49th meeting of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action.
