ALECSO calls for urgent plan to support flood response in Sudan

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) is following with deep concern the high toll of human and material losses resulting from the torrential rain floods hitting many regions in Sudan.

In the face of this disastrous situation causing destruction to schools and other educational and cultural institutions as well as to a number of archaeological sites, historical monuments, and landscapes adjacent to the Nile River, ALECSO calls on the international community, particularly international and regional organizations, to act promptly and establish a practical plan through which all efforts will be joined to alleviate the impact of the disaster in Sudan. It also expresses its full readiness to contribute its expertise and be actively involved in establishing this plan.
