ALECSO Observatory participates in the  “Virtual Meeting on Arab Science, Technology and Innovation Observatories  and the post-Covid-19 challenges”

As part of cooperation between the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Arab Association of Science, Technology and Innovation Observatories, Eng. Khalaf Aloklah, Acting Director of the Science and Scientific Research Department and Coordinator of the ALECSO Observatory, took part, on August 19, 2020, in the virtual meeting on “Arab STI observatories and the post-Covid-19 challenges.”
The aim of the meeting was to discuss and define the broad lines of the post-Covid-19 action plan of the Arab Association of Science, Technology and Innovation Observatories, as well as to determine the needs of observatories in terms of training and capacity development.
The meeting was attended by representatives from STI observatories in a number of Arab countries and from the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics. Discussions focused on :
- The ways of enhancing the work of Arab STI observatories and increasing coordination among them;
- The mechanisms of cooperation among Arab STI observatories amid current challenges;
- The needs of Arab STI observatories in terms of training and capacity development;
- The development of a forward-looking vision for Arab STI observatories.
It should be noted that ALECSO is member of the Arab Association of Science, Technology and Innovation Observatories, affiliated with the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils.
