UAE supports the project for updating the “Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture”

In implementation of the Resolution adopted by the 21st session of the Arab Culture Ministers Conference, held in Cairo, Egypt, on October 14-15, 2018, on “updating and developing the Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture,” ALECSO signed an agreement with the UAE National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, by virtue of which the UAE will finance the project for the updating of the Plan, first drafted in 1985.
This project, which coincides with the launch of the “Arab Decade for Cultural Rights” (2018-2027), bears testimony to the importance of culture as a driver of sustainable development and as a means for enhancing cooperation and solidarity among Arab States, especially amid the current regional and global developments. It is part of the forward-looking approach adopted by the Organization to meet the challenges of the post-COVID-19 era and cope with the new situations it will bring about.
ALECSO commends this constructive cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, and highly appreciates the UAE’s support to ALECSO’s activities and programs designed to serve and promote joint Arab action, and to further enhance the Arab peoples’ renewed contribution to universal civilization.
