In an interview given to the Tunisian Radio on April 22, 2020, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, highlighted the actions taken by ALECSO and member States in response to the Covid-19 crisis and its educational, cultural, scientific and economic repercussions.
Dr. Ould Amar commended, in this context, Tunisia’s efforts to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. He also indicated that since January 2020, ALECSO has launched an awareness-raising operation for COVID-19 prevention, through awareness spots and the translation of relevant publications.
Dr. Ould Amar highlighted ALECSO’s initiative to provide e-learning platforms in response to school closure and educational disruption due to the Covid-19 crisis, and to ensure continuity of learning in the Arab countries, especially those most in need of help. ALECSO, he added, has coordinated with member States and held virtual meetings with government officials in charge of education and culture in order to share experiences in response to the crisis and to develop a common vision and plan for the future.
